Live Fit

Ok yall, I’m finally getting back into the workout groove and am really excited about starting the Live Fit Trainer program. I’ve been looking at it for probably 8 months now but never actually got on board. Either I wasn’t strict enough, couldn’t give up the cardio, or was working on the New Rules of Lifting program. Whatever the reason, it never happened.

But now it’s on!

The Live Fit Trainer is a workout program/eating plan created by fitness model, Jamie Eason. The whole thing is only 12 weeks long. That seems like nothing compared to the 6 month NROL. It is broken into 3 month long phases.

Phase 1:  Intro to lifting heavy and learning to eat clean. NO cardio.

Phase 2: Add in the cardio and cut back on carbs.

Phase 3: Carb cycling, high-intensity interval training, and supersets

There are recipes, videos, a food list, shopping tips, emergency at home workouts when you cant get to the gym…lots of good stuff!

I’m really excited to start this on Monday!I think a workout program is a workout program and the real results will have everything to do with committing myself to a clean eating lifestyle.

Phase 1 is all about eating clean and lifting. Week 1 and 2 will be 4 days a week while weeks 3 and 4 move up to  days a week.

I’ve been pretty much addicted to the MyFitnessPal app/website. I track pretty much everything I eat. I get so many eye rolls when I say that but really it’s not hard. Once you add in the things you eat often it is all saved there for you…and if you have an iphone the app has a barcode scanner which makes tracking seriously painless. I just scan the barcode of whatever it is I eat and it saves it. Too easy! If you use it too you should be my friend…GirlMeetsCamera is the use name 😉

The eating plan is pretty much just the best way to eat anyway, I think….not an actual diet. Everyone should eat clean. Clean = no sugar, preservatives…avoid packaged foods and anything with ingredients that you can’t pronounce. I’ve heard if it didn’t have a mamma or come from the ground don’t eat it. Easier said than done!! I’m learning though that there are plenty of tasty options without the junk. Even some sweet treats to make.

So…clean eating. Check. Eat within an hour of waking up. Eat every 3 hours. Drinks TONS of water…I think the ‘rule’ is half your body weight in ounces. Or you can just shoot for 8 cups a day.

Eating is going to be the hardest part for me. I need to make sure I get my veggies in. I think the key for me will be to prep some things on the weekend to have portioned out and stored in the fridge for my mid day meals every week. I’m going to try that this weekend.

I’m thinking meat loaf/turkey muffins, salsa chicken,  protein bars, and wash and chop veggies to bag up so its all right there and ready. Chopping veggies is the worst for me…Id rather just not eat any than have to get it all out and chop it. If I do it ahead of time and bag it all up in portions then it’s there and ready.

Something we have that I think is a lifesaver in the veggie department is the microwave steamer.

I hate 99% of raw veggies and this is so fast and easy and  no mess…love it!

So that’s it for now I think. I am planning on a big update after each phase and will probably post a lot of randoms about it through out the whole process. SUPER excited!

Also, I’ll be back tomorrow with Find It Friday! This week’s word is FAST
