Mt. Yeongin & Find It Friday

Thursday morning I joined a local photog group (one of my fellow derby girls runs it…I think. She seems pretty in charge!) for an outing to Mt. Yeongin for a  picnic/photo adventure.

It’s about 20ish minutes away in Asan.

It was a really nice place!

07June12 010

There was a bit of pavement that we walked up to the big open grassy area where we had lunch.

07June12 009

Timmy ran free with the Korean kids there

07June12 008

There was a little pond with flowers and bridges/benches/decks near the grassy area. Very pretty!

After lunch we hiked up some dirt paths into the mountain

07June12 018

Those were some hills. Maybe hiking with a 30lb toddler on my back after doing legs at the gym was a bad idea. My legs were jello.

07June12 020

The views were nice though 🙂

07June12 021

And then we hit the stairs. *vomit* Remember my little stair phobia?? Totally thought I’d be fine. I made it to the first little platform about 10 stairs up and had to go back and wait for everyone at the bottom. I was white knucklin’ on the rails. There was no holding my camera and Timmy wiggling on my back made me feel like I was about to flip off the edge. No bueno.

07June12 024

So the other ladies went to check the view at the top while the boy and I checked out some more on the trail

07June12 023

We were hangin in the shade until too many bees flew by us. Timmy was losing. his. mind.

07June12 025

07June12 026

so we walked so more

07June12 029

Then after a quick Marco/polo I stalkerazzi’d them coming back down the stairs.

07June12 027

We came back down from the trails back to the pond. The speakers were pumping out some awesome english music. This was taken as the Bee Gees were on.

Timmy came down from my back for this part. He was done. I was done. Time to burn off some energy

07June12 038

Thankful for these two mamma’s that were sandwiching Timmy. He almost tumbled into the water a couple times but their mom reflexes kept him out 😉

07June12 039

There were TONS of frogs (why Timmy needed to be near the water) that were jumping from the flowers into the pond as we walked by.

07June12 040

And some big fatty tadpoles

It was a great day even though I was disgusting sweaty by the time we left there. So glad I made it out to one of these get togethers finally! Cant wait to go back with the whole family 😀 But next time Thomas will carry the boy.

Here’s a picture Beth took of me and Timmy 🙂 He was sort of over having to stand still. Glad she got it though!

And for Find It Friday.

EMPTY.

Big empty field. Maybe we will bring a ball or a kite? Who knows. Definitely a picnic blanket!

**Directions**

From Camp Humphreys CPX gate:

Leave out of CPX gate. At the light go right onto 45. Stay on 45 for about 6.1 miles you will exit at Changyong-ri or Changyong.

Go left under the bridge and follow this road to the dead end. At about 7.4 miles there will be a Korean structure on your right and just after the road kinda dead ends go right.

Go straight on this road. You will go under a hwy bridge and come up on a little town.

At the Y intersection go left into town towards Asan-ri or hwy 39. Continue straight through the town and you will notice a left turn under a bridge or a dead end up ahead with lots of large stones, park is on your right.

At this point you will see the entrance to the trails and lots of parked cars. No fancy signs just a map sign by the head of the trail. You can park here or follow the road on your right to the halfway point of the mountain. It is 2-5000 won per car to park up top depending on number of people in car.
