Here we go again. Another year down and this was a big one.
January.
In January I started a 365 project with this picture…
Ironed some bling onto my lifting gloves…
Got Timmy some chucks…
Put our home up for rent…
Enjoyed one last pumpkin muffin/latte with Melissa…
And drove to Atlanta to begin our journey to South Korea.
February.
In February we loaded our life onto an airplane and flew across the world.
We found giant Korean carrots…
And snow 😐
Met Thomo’s cat…
Ate at my first beef and leaf restaurant (and discovered Instagram<3)
Enjoyed Korean infomercials…
Took pictures of the colorful money…
Went to AK Plaza for the first time…
And got my first derby shirt 😀
March.
In March Timmy and I walked to the bus stop to pick up Layla…
Met up with some old Rucker friends…
Discovered Happy Quilt (aka fabric heaven.)
Made pumpkin muffins…
Got our household goods…
And FINALLY joined the derby team! 😀
April.
In April we made playdough…
Had our first Korean paparazzi experience…
Colored, hid, and found Easter eggs…
Were in awe of the giant buildings in Seoul….
Went to the Children’s Museum…
and the COEX Aquarium.
We celebrated our friend, Lucy’s, first birthday…
and went crazy for cherry blossoms!
May.
In May we attempted potty training.
Spent the night in Seoul for the aviation ball (which I have no pictures from. Dumb.)
Chopped off my hair…
Baby showered…
And drove to Daegu to watch a ROKDerby scrimmage with 2 of my favorite Osan ladies.
Explored a museum in Daegu…
Fell in love with Korean Frying and Kimbap…
and the giant spiders living on our porch.
June.
In June we went hiking in Asan
Went up to Seoul for some roller derby fun
Ate more Korean Frying
Explored the market in our town
Scared Timmy in a museum with dinosaurs
And threatened to feed Layla dried squid
July.
On the 4th of July I ran my first (and last) 5K run
Made Layla’s Not Bummer Summer list
Jumped in rain puddles
Joined a bowling league
Explored the town after dinner.
And took pictures of clouds.
August.
In August we drew on a lot of cat faces
Got hair cuts
Took the train up to Seoul
Went to Lotte World
Started 2nd grade
And made our own laundry soap
September.
In September I packed lunches
Rode on a Korean bus
Watched the rice grow taller
Made super not yummy pumpkin “brownies”
Went for some Pizza School
And fought with the cat. a lot.
October.
In October I went on a photo walk with other camera happy friends
Watched Timmy go down slides
Made some Ninja Turtle costumes for me and Thomo
Which included my first crocheted hat!
I took pictures of the junk in my bags
And hung out with friends on Halloween
November.
In November I started reading a book that I still haven’t finished.
Layla lost her first top tooth
We put up the Christmas tree a little early
And got school pictures back.
Went on our first trip to Everland
where we went on a Korean Its a Small World-esque boat ride.
Watched a Christmas parade
And saw GIANT bears dance for snacks
December.
In December we overdosed on Christmas movies and cartoons
Were visited by elves
Played in our first snow of the season
Built a baby snow man
Survived the stomach flu
Attempted glowy light pictures
Decorated cookies
And had a Merry Christmas 🙂
Looking back through our year makes me feel like I really don’t get out much here. There’s only about 4 places I drive to alone. I should have asked for a GPS for Christmas 😉 And in the year we have spent here I’ve only been on the train twice. And I have no idea what is on the other side of post. Its like living at Rucker and ONLY driving through Enterprise…never Ozark or Daleville. That seems crazy to me. Im totally in a little Korea bubble.
