It’s a Toomuh!

Maybe. It’s a something. I should prolly wait until T get back from the vet before I go blogging about my cancer-ridden dog.

But I’m not gonna. So I’ll give you the back story again since I already started in the last post. We took Revo (we being actually just Thomas) to the vet because we found a large lump at the base of his tail while giving him a bath. The bath was because he has been SUPER itchy and chewing his tail into baldness.

(If you don’t want to see scabby bald dog back…don’t scroll down)

please dont wash me.

The vet visit resulted in a shaved back/tail. Poor guy. He has some kind of allergy and is now on 2 different meds and an itch spray. And he’s bald. I swear every time he is shaved for something it takes forever to grow back…and as soon as it does he’s shaved for something else.

I love the dog but let me just say over his life he may be the most expensive pet ever. Any who, back and tail are gross but the itchy seems to have stopped and he’s actually taking the pills without a fight which is new.

The vet tried to see what was in the lump on his tail. Didn’t seem to be an abcess or a fatty tumor (she thought) so we were sent to another vet to check him out and do a biopsy to find out what it is exactly. That’s where they are now. Hoping they get something done. The original vet said if it were her dog she would prolly just take the tail whether it was cancer or not because where it is might be hard to close. TAKE HIS TAIL. I know this happens all the time. We have friends who had their dogs whole LEG taken off…but it still makes me sad. Revo without a tail. He’s such a happy dog he needs his tail. So sad. But that’s still a maybe. I really should just let them finish the vet visit before I decide amputation is definitely happening.

His butt will be bald for months, poor guy. Maybe I’ll make him a butt sweater.

Also, going on record to say that other than 11 years of incontinence, our pound puppy, Sadie, is the healthiest freakin dog and will prolly live 10 more years.  Also again, if Revo does need surgery at least we can get his nails cut without him completely losing his mind. Silver lining…kinda.
