• Going Brandless with Brandless.com: Unboxing

After seeing a friend post about ordering through Brandless.com I got curious and decided to check it out. The first thing I noticed is that this stuff is CHEAP! Like $3 cheap. Yes please! But then I read some more and was really impressed with their mission and their dedication to offering the best, safest quality products that are affordable to anyone. Check out more about how awesome this company is at About Brandless.

FYI – This is not a paid post at all. I just found something that I like and want to share it all with you!

Also, this isn’t a subscription thing at all! No, join the ‘club’ and get this awesome cheap stuff that you have to reorder monthly. It’s just a regular shop. Big win! So I built a box. I just added a few items that I know we use a lot or needed or sounded good to try it out. I came home from work yesterday and saw the box sitting on the table. SUPER exciting! I couldn’t wait to break into it.

I had a little help with the unboxing…

Here’s what I got! Since I’m pretty dedicated to my Laughing Man Coffee k-cups I decided to try the Brandless Cold Brew bag

Black Chia seeds. I bought some at Sam’s Club a while back and am running low. Perfect timing!

And obviously I was in a sandwich mood when shopping… but really, when am I not?

    Peanut butter, jelly, and honey.

I also ordered some Thai peanut sauce because its one of our fave things to eat and why not?

That’s it for my first Brandless.com order! I can’t wait to really dig into all of these items. Also, I already have a list going for my next order once I run out of what I have! Things like pasta sauce and oatmeal are on it. And maybe some cookies. Definitely some cookies.

Do you find that you shop certain brands all the time or are you good with going brandless? Sometimes I think I’m dedicated to specific brands but then I realize I’m just a creature of habit and once I start shopping one way I just keep with it forever and ever and ever. I’m pretty excited to step out of that box a little bit!

  • Thrifty Thursday!

Oh man, it’s Fall Break and the days have completely gotten away from me. Last Saturday, our first day of Fall Break, I ditched the family and went out to Dothan with the derby girls to participate in our local Buddy Walk. Then after a quick costume change and face stuffing we took off to Montgomery to sub in a bout between the Montgomery team and the North Georgia Roller Girls. It was SO much fun. I love subbing. I dont have to jam and there’s no real pressure. Just go out and hit people. I feel like we worked really well with the team we helped too which is nice never having played with them before.

Anyway, Monday was junkin day, Tuesday we didn’t get out of our pjs all day, and Wednesday I had to get a wisdom tooth yanked. Not fun. So I spent the evening like this.

The pain pills they gave me knock me out. Once it kicked in T cut me off from watching any more of our Netflix shows because I kept nodding off. Dang.

Anyway, today I’m feeling a lot better than I thought I would be but am still skipping derby tonight (gasp!) Something about shoving a mouth guard in my mouth and super exerting myself just doesn’t sound like a good plan today.

SO, I did laundry. Which is good because there was some thrifted stuff in there I needed to share. But I couldn’t remember what all I bought Monday…and what was from past junkin trips. Which is bad. There’s too much. T also cut me off from junking until I take some of the stuff we don’t want OUT of the house. Or at least hang up/put away the previous weeks finds. I’m a hoarder. I’ll work on it. But for now I’ll just show you what I did find.

Layla got some golf shoes. They’re the same brand T has (I think) and I also think they fit her. Or at least aren’t too small. It’s a good thing. I was excited anyway…

I found this wooden mailbox thing and I probably definitely dont need it. But Melissa said I did and like I said, I’m a hoarder. So it came home with me. Maybe I’ll hang it outside the front door…even though we have a mailbox on the curb. I dunno. Maybe I can find some fun in the house use for it. Or out on the breezeway. Any suggestions for it? I do love it.

THIS I was pretty excited about. Even though it’s really only going to be good for moon viewing I think…and right now the moon isnt out any time before we go to bed so it’s just kind of fun to look at… Hopefully it will be worth the $20.

This is from a couple weeks ago. Or last week? I dont know. But it’s a globe! I’ve always wanted one.

And some clothes. I love the dress on the left. The 2 little shirts for Timmy are fun. Not sure on the sweater thing yet but it was $1…the top shirt looks little big but it’s just a Gap medium so maybe I’m bigger than I think and it will fit nicely. And the flannel…omg. Softest shirt ever. Totally a mans shirt but I dont think I care.

Since we’re already halfway through fall break and I hadnt dont anything I meant to do while kids were off I made myself take them for haircuts today. Look how shaggy Timmy is. Eek! I’ve already trimmed his bangs out of his eyes twice. It was time to just take them in. I’m just so lazy.

    After.

  • Thrifty Thursday!

It’s that time of week again! I am really excited for this week’s Thrifty Thursday post. Some of you who follow me on Instagram saw the little preview I posted on Monday after our shopping trip. Good stuff!

First, not pictured…. L got a melon colored polo shirt. She’s going to a golf clinic so I figured she’l need more collared shirts. Also, I got a stoneware casserole dish. Very exciting! The 57 pictures I took of it all look like poo so you don’t get to see it. Just know that it makes me happy and I spent $3 on it.

Ok… onto this. It was hanging with the fancy dresses and we saw it on our way to the checkout when we were done. I didn’t know what it was…that awkward length between dress and shirt…but the tag was pink. It was $1! I’ll take it. After getting it home and trying it on I think I could wear it with… leggings.  I’m so not a leggings person. But I think I might need to figure it out.

    lace dress

Oh, the kids both got a new pair of Levis.

    levi jeans

The buttons on L’s are like diamonds so I’m sure they will be too girly and she wont wear them. I wont bring it to her attention if you don’t…

And finally my favorite thing that I’ve found at the Enterprise Christian Mission:

    Prada bag

Um, what? A Prada bag? I’ll take it. And it’s only $25?? Yes please.

    Prada bag

Now, finding it at the mission makes me skeptical. I lived in Korea for 2 years and have been down in the secret back rooms of the purse shops where they keep the really nice fakes…this could very well be fake. BUT…it’s still a lot less than I paid for my fake Coach bag. And it smells amazing. AND it’s so so soft. And there are no suckers/fruit snacks/cookie crumbs mashed into the bottom of it.

Also, it fits my camera and has a long cross body strap option. Perfecto.

    prada bag

I think it was a good purchase.

    Im in love.
