Trying To Keep Up

I feel like I have been so busy since being here. This is day 4 of playing “mom” to two kids in school. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be but I still feel busy. Not totally sure why since Layla and I have pretty much from 830am-3pm free. It’s going to be relaxing to get back to our normal schedule again when we get home. For a day anyway. Layla is going to start preschool that Friday (we get home Wednesday). I guess this will get me used to getting a kid up and out the door in the morning.

It will be easier with my coffee pot too. SIL doesn’t have one. She just hits up Starbucks after taking Chae which is awesome but I like to be in my PJ’s still when I take her which means I wont go into SB…so this is holding me over. Not a bad combo now that I have figured out how to make it good!

Another part of the morning routine is Cody. He goes out to pee, comes back and eats, then goes out to poop. All in about 10 minutes. I wish my dogs worked like that. This was the view yesterday when I was waiting for him to pee…

And in the pool

And speaking of Cody. He’s a retriever. I’ve never spent this much time with one to know what their little brains are all about. My dogs don’t bring stuff to me. Cody brings EVERYTHING to the back door.

One more fun thing about being in San Diego is connecting with old Hawaii friends. First I got ahold of Michelley Welly to make her come down to see me. Shes a couple hours north of us. Then I realized that Riva and her kids are here now! Yesterday Layla and I headed down there to visit with them. It has been about a year since we have seen them. I can’t believe how BIG they are! K just turned 3 and he is as tall or taller than Layla. And Layla isn’t small! I only got a few pictures of them all together watching Wall E. Notice how Layla is having a spazz moment and doesn’t want anyone to look at her. Oy.
