Amish Friendship Bread…Who’s Next?

Last week at playgroup I was given a bag of Amish Friendship Bread starter. Today was day 10 which is baking day! Also, let me share with you the fact that for the past week I have been mashing the bag it was in and letting out the air that built up. Also at one point I had to add more milk/sugar/flour.

Today on baking day I had to dump the bag in a bowl and add MORE stuff to it

Another cup and a half of flour, sugar, and milk…

I did get to use my bday prezzie from Melissa though. A hand mixer thing. I had used the blade attachment but this time I got to try out the whisk! Fun stuff.

Next I had to label 4 gallon bags with today’s date and add some of the mix to each bag so I can hand them out to more people

I made a mess getting it in there…oh well

Now time to add to what was left in the bowl!
Bread6

It turns into a THICK and STICKY dough. Pour that into some load pans or bundt pans that have been dusted with a Cinnamon sugar mixture

Now BAKE it! Mine just came out of the oven and the house smells awesome. I guess I should have waited until I had a finished product photo to add with it but I didn’t. Maybe there will be one later.

Now I need 4 sweet unsuspecting people who will take my 4 bags of goop so they can mash and burp their bags and add and mash and burp some more until their 10th day.

Any takers? April, I know where you live…don’t be scurred if someone dumps a bag of stuff on your door step 😉

  1. You better hope April doesn’t come to soccer tomorrow night….I’ll race you for her!

  2. April Elizabeth

LOL you two! Bring it on…fresh bread is my weakness. Not to mention when my mom caters, I’d often have to make 30 or 40 loaves of fresh bread, so I can handle two!

  3. I did one of these once LOL. Nobody wanted my starters, so they all went in the trash. Some friendship! :p
