Today Layla and I headed up to New Brockton after lunch to see the Homecoming Parade with April and her kids. We had some time to kill before heading over to watch so Miss April set the good example and showed the kids how to have a REAL pillow fight!
Layla had to learn that bigger isn’t always better. The smaller ones are good for winding up and really swinging at the other person.
Once we packed up kids and got over to the parade route we realized that there were a lot more people out there than we thought there would be
The parade started with the police car and fire trucks. Can you guess what Layla was doing as they passed?
Here come the varsity cheerleaders!
Small beauty queens riding on cars
They were all tossing candy out for the kids. We all left with pockets full since we missed the “bring a bag” memo
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone ride a lawn mower in a parade before…especially a clown.
Hoot n’ holler y’all for some bigger cheerleaders
More candy from the little football players
The band! Hopefully this was just the pep band or something and not the whole thing. I think our high school bad might have even been bigger than this.
Preston was more interested in the candy
Finally the whole thing ended with some horses. Layla had a lot to say about the piles of poop on the way back to the car
What a cool parade. I love those small town happenings! Leave it to Layla to mention the horse poop. lmao I also love wordless wednesday.
Looks like you had a fun day. I need to find stuff like that around here to take my kiddos to.
HA! Glad to set a fine example for the kiddos at all times!!!! The band really is that small. It was the same size at the football game tonight. GO GAMECOCKS!!!!
