I found a sugar cookie recipe that I had all the ingredients to make, I was able to roll out and cut out, and they actually tasted GOOD! Not biscuits. Not gross…whatever else I’ve made them into. They’re good. And easy! I’d like to thank Alabama for inspiring me to order a subscription to Country Living from the neighbor who was selling subscriptions for school.
A recent issue had this:
Basic Sugar Cookie Dough
1 stick(s) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cup(s) confectioners’ sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
2 1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
Directions
1.In a large bowl, beat together butter and confectioners’ sugar using an electric mixer set on medium-high speed.
2.Add eggs, vanilla, and salt, and beat until combined. Reduce mixer speed to low, add flour, and mix until dough is smooth
And I guess that’s as far as I went with pictures. But I stuck it in the fridge until I was ready to make them and it rolled out soooo nicely and cut soooo nicely. And they are yummy. I wish I had more frosting though.
It took years…but I have finally made a yummy sugar cookie and it WASN’T from store bought dough!
Those look so yummy! I love the simple recipe too!!
