Thomas is in Korea. I just missed him on chat. Now I’m going to sit here and see if he gets back on while I blog about March so far.
Kind of. I have no real direction with this post…just need to catch up so I can get to the “Have to keep up with the blog so T can see the kids” point.
Thomas and I dumped the kids on Melissa for the night (yes, a WHOLE night away!) and we went down to Destin, FL for the night.
It smelled so good. Like beach.
Right away it made my heart home sick for Hawaii. Like Hawaii is my real home LOL Still. It is.
Then I saw this big ol jelly booger and sort of didn’t miss it THAT much. But I really still did.
I have to admit I was a giant emotional stress ball before we went down there. Almost not wanting to go. I’m glad we did though because it was a lot of fun to just be us without kids again. It’s been a LONG time since we were JUST us.
And oohh the sand…my heart…I miss you Hawaii.
Since I can’t be in Hawaii I decided to just go ahead and buy this house on the beach in Destin
*sigh* I wish!
T knows people who are related to people who have a house on the beach. I took pictures from their balcony. I could live there. Do you think they would mind if I just sort of…watched over their house while they weren’t using it? Probably.
We ended up going to a movie and then Bass Pro Shop. That’s what you are supposed to do on date nights right? We had a gift card and wanted to use it before he left.
I feel very much from the city when I get in that store. I’m not from a really big city but still…a camo spray paint kit? It made me giggle but I’m sure the people that buy it are totally serious about their camo usage.
I was a LITTLE creeped out by the amount of dead animals on the wall. Once
again…city slicker here
Look at that pig. Having a huge head on your wall is one thing but posing a dead animal like it’s alive is just…creepy.
Thomo was busy drooling over knives while I looked like a tourist snapping pictures of the camo and dead animals.
After finishing up at the BPS we walked around the little outdoor mall they have there. It was fun being around real stores.
We ended up in a Williams Sanoma. I. Love. That. Store. As much as I can’t really cook and wouldn’t really ever use half the stuff in there I still want it all. ALL of it. Love it.
I saw this kids apron and thought of Michelle 🙂
And then we saw these Star Wars spatulas and I thought of Molly. I’m pretty sure she posted them on her Pinterest. If not…it still made me think of her.
There were pancake molds to go with them too
Then I saw THIS wall and thought of Melissa!
Since her friend Shannon already wins by getting her the biggest dutch oven I thought maybe I could win by getting her the smallest…
And then I realized it was $20. So I just sent her the text picture.
On the way home we took a way I hadn’t been yet across a really long bridge. For a second I got a little creeped feeling about being out over all that water. What is happening to me? I’m all paranoid. Geeze.
Driving through Middleofnowhere, AL I told T that I wanted an old falling apart barn on some land. He thought I was nuts because then Id have to take care of a falling apart barn or have a pile of wood. He’s always so technical about everything. I just want somewhere to take neat falling apart barn pictures 🙂
I like Middleofnowhere, AL and the slow pickup truck drivers that live there
I also like birds. Because my inner Megan is an 80 year old women. I took this one with Melissa in mind because she says she never sees them so close up. I do 🙂 There’s an upside to not being a crazy cat lady. I can have close bird feeders 😉
Wait a second…what’s this??
My blue bird 🙂 He’s waving at me
I’m pretty sure I need 2 blue birds tattooed on my back. But I don’t want cartoony tattoo birds. I want real pretty blue birds. Try finding ANY pictures of real blue bird tattoos. They’re all cartoony with swallow tails. Dumb. I did find a few though.
Finally…On T’s last day here we spent a good chunk of the day outside. It was a little chilly but that didn’t stop Timmy from finding the water table. He was soaked. He already puked chicken and guacamole all over himself at lunch so why not let him wash it off? Mom of the year right here folks.
No shoes either. I’m raisin this boy right!
T was playin around with the pool table trying (and sometimes making) some trick shot that he could never seem to make when I was actually watching.
After a quick costume change (building my mommy points back up) I tried to distract Timmy from the water. I gave him a piece of chalk thinking of other blog moms who have cute little girls Timmy’s age that know how to color. He just ate his chalk.
That night L’s school had a concert before the PTO meeting. Good way to make parents come to the meeting…suck them in with a your kid needs to come concert first. We didn’t stay though.
They were all really cute
I love the face she’s making 🙂
And that’s all. I need to take more kid pictures. Today was crap. Severe weather, tornado warnings, thunder and lightning, closet forts, and L home with a fever. Home again tomorrow too. Hopefully she will feel better soon!
I am so glad that you updated your blog! I kept looking at your page and would stick my bottom lip out because I was sad that I didn't have anything to read from you. Great pictures! I always love your stories and I LOVE your writing. Anyway…I sound like a creepy stalker now. Your kiddos are growing up so much. And it's freaky how much Layla reminds me of Chloe. I have always thought they looked similar and Layla makes some of the same faces. I'm glad ya'll stayed safe through the bad weather. I hope Layla feels better soon…and I hope the next year flies by for you.
Hope the year goes by quickly for you. Destin looks beautiful! The pics make me miss Hawaii too. Of course a lot of what made it so great was the people…so I guess that means we all just need to move back. 🙂 Or you could just come to WA…lol. I can't believe how big Timmy is getting…or Layla for that matter. These kids need to slow down.
