Geeze where have we been?? Enjoying the last couple days with T is where we’ve been. With no camera. My whole “yay you’re home lets update the family pics, yo!” idea pretty much went down the drain. Instead we ate a lot and went to the gym a lot.
Anywho, he’s gone again and we have a good 3-8ish months before we will know anything about us moving to Korea. So…yeah. Getting back into the routine and having to relearn how to deal with Timmy. It’s so much easier to plop him on the couch with dad where he will sit all. day. long. Oh well.
The sky was really pretty the other night when I left both kids at home (woot woot!) to run out and get us mini Blizzards from DQ. And the camera was still in the car from whatever the last thing was that I thought I may need it for so I snapped some pics while driving home. Stunt driver right there.
This is as good as it gets for a family picture. T and the kids. And Revo. All with big flashy eyes. I hate the pop up flash.
School night or not we MAY have kept kids outside a wee bit late. Nothing like being pulled around the front yard on a boogie board by your dad. She was having a blast!
Finally after showers and jammas we were doing stories and cool down time in Layla’s room. I read a book while Thomo wiggled her decently loose but not yet near dangling tooth.
Then there was the ‘pop’. The sound of those little strings breaking and suddenly the tooth was floppy. Have you seen the Emperor’s New Groove? The kid in that movie (yes I know it’s a cartoon, stick with me here) had a loose tooth and when she (or was it he?) breathed in and out fast it flapped in and out. We called it the paper tooth. That’s what L’s looked like. I put Timmy to bed and T and I with a ton of help from Layla got working on it. If you have picked up anything about Layla from this blog whenever I do decide to post it’s that she’s pretty much a chicken. She’s NOT the girl that is going to wriggle and twist and push on her tooth until finally just ripping it out. Not a chance. She was right in there though with a mirror messin with it. We were all determined to get it out so T could see her lose her first tooth.
Finally about the time she got freaked out and was ready to quit we tried ‘one more time’. I held her hands while she squeezed mine and Thomas yanked that sucker out. Not that it was really attatched anymore by that time. It was gross. Her gums were bleedy and there was the big gaping black hole. We made her wrinse her mouth before she was allowed to look at it 😉
But it was out and at that point she didn’t care. She was a big kid and she lost her first tooth. And that tooth fairy was going to bring her moooooney to buy a new poooooony!
Thankfully the tooth fairy was able to get some change or else she’d be able to buy a LOT of ponies…
Can you believe that?! I remember when that little baby tooth first popped in. She was a drooly little baby. Ugh. I’m not old enough for a toothless first grader.
Can you even see it?? It’s tiny. And out of focus. Then it got licked shut in an envelope before I could switch lenses and find the light to get a good picture. Oh well.
She was so flippin proud. And I was too! While I cried inside.
She went to bed with her envelope under her pillow after saying goodbye to her dad.
Blah. Here’s to another 8ish months!
130am goodbye pictures
