Favorite Things Pt 1 – Scentsy

First off I want to say that I love Pinterest. A lot. I could spend hours repinning things to my own little virtual pin boards.

One of my boards is My Favorite Things. Kind of like Oprah”s…but stuff I can actually afford.

I decided to start randomly (everything is random because I can’t stick to a schedule. Have you figured that out yet??) sharing my faves with you 🙂

Starting with Scentsy. 

I first fell in love with Scentsy 3 years ago when Melissa and I sat huddled over a basket of scent samples at the library while our girls were in story time. I was addicted and Miss Louise became my dealer.  Let me back up and explain Scentsy to anyone that hasn’t been sucked in yet.

Scentsy is all the awesomeness of yummy candles without the fire and with LOTS of warmer options! You pick your warmer…either full size, medium, or plug in, then you pick some scents. They come in bars (which I order) or BRICKS which are insanely big. Im cheap though and bars are $5 and I have my $5 rule. The package comes with 6 little wax squares. In the catalog pictures it shows them burning THREE squares at a time. I use one at a time. Once again…I’m cheap and like my stuff to last…and also you dont need that much. Unless maybe if you have a huge wide open house which I do not. One square is enough for me 🙂

 

 

Anyway…it doesn’t stop at wax and warmers. They have little dangly Scent Circles. I had one of these and they work very well! There’s also a little travel tin that slides open but from what Ive heard the circles last longer…I’ve never tried them.

ALSO, there is the Scentsy Buddy. These are newish…as in they didn’t have them 3 years ago when I first started buying. They are stuffed animals that you can put little scent pouches inside so they smell yummy. Or you can just buy the pouches and stick them somewhere. Like a closet maybe? Gym bag I heard is an option for someone’s hubby lol…maybe drawers? Anywho, one of the buddies, Sasha the Bear, is the Scentsy Cause Buddy and 100% of the net proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House. We are big big RMH fans here! Good cause, Scentsy 🙂 Now you need a March of Dimes buddy…just sayin.

Also, theres a new solid perfume stick that I am just seeing and know NOTHING about. So that’s an option too if you heart your scentsy smells and want to wear them 😀

This is a full size warmer. It’s next to two 8×10 photos if that helps with sizing for you. Love love love. This is the Boleyn warmer and I bought it when I painted all of our furniture black and had matching stools and window treatments.

See, you just plug it in, turn it on, and pop a square in the top. Then let it do the rest.

 Did I mention there are TONS of designs? Perfect for all of my multiple decorating personalities.

One awesome thing about Scentsy is that the wax wont burn you. It’s hot but if a kid gets into it it cools super fast. And if you look closely you can see the wax drip down the bathroom wall. Looks like someone was interested in seeing how the plug in turned. And Im guessing no one was hurt because I didn’t hear about it 😉 Maybe they were just scared for their lives if I knew who poured wax down the wall.

 

I’d be lying though if I said the kids are the only ones to get wax on them…

Every month there is a new warmer and scent of the month that they have marked 10% off. This month the warmer is called Snapshot. It holds a photo. Isn’t that perfect?? I think I need it. For real.

The scent is Autumn Stroll which I’ve never smells but I love any smell that makes me think that it’s cooling off here.

Ooh did I mention they have room sprays too?? Yum! Just remembered that one.
