Before I share with you the amazingness that is the Dothan painted peanuts, let me just say that I am trying to be a better blogger. Actually, that’s a lie. I feel too busy to keep this up but I couldn’t actually tell you WHAT I’m too busy doing. The hours just are gone. You know…all the stuff. And things. There’s too much of it.
And since I’m so busy with nothing I bought a fancy new Erin Condren Life Planner to keep me in check. And you know what? I’m in love with it! But that’s another blog post…I really do love To-Do lists even if I don’t stick to them ever. There’s a little section at the side of each week for weekly goals. This week I wrote “Write 2 blog posts.” I even circled the 2.
It’s Wednesday… And I got nothin. Actually, I have an old album filled with pictures of kids standing with peanut statues that was part of our Not Bummer Summer. So, while I haven’t done anything else blog worthy to share, I will jump back in time and update y’all on that list. I have 45 minutes before I have to heard children to the shower. This seems like a better option than reading more about Robin Williams on Facebook like I’ve been trying (and failing) to avoid the last few days. I have no words on that. It’s just too sad.
But anyway, back to the topic of this post. Peanuts!
I hear different cities have different fancy painted statues. I think Tucson tried with horses for a while and I’ve seen cows too. Alabama does Peanuts. They’re pretty fun and I want to say there are 40+ peanuts scattered around Dothan and surrounding cities to find. You can get a map in the Dothan Welcome Center that tells you where they all are. Even WITH the map we still only got a handful and it took forever. It was fun though. Sweaty, but fun.
