Whew. This weekend has been non stop and suddenly it’s already Tuesday. Trying to come down from our weekend high and get back into the groove of normal isn’t easy. Especially when Monday stays just as busy as the weekend. But today is slowing down a bit…which is nice because fall showed up this morning. I have windows open and the pumpkin scentsy burnin. It’s a good day to catch up.
Over the weekend T and I left the kids with Melissa (thank you again!) and hit the road to Biloxi, MS to meet up with some friends who were already down there.
When we got there and settled in we went for lunch at the Beau Ravage Resort & Casino. When you walk in that place it’s like Hollister for older people. They have rose smelling perfume pumping out in the lobby. Everything was pretty floral and ritzy. We ate at their sports bar type restaurant. The black and blue burger was amaaaazing.
We didn’t stay there long though. Once we finished eating we headed down the road (after going back to the hotel for my sweater) to the Hard Rock Casino. If the Beau Rivage was Target, the Hard Rock was Walmart people wise. As for the general atmosphere I did like it much better. Just like the Hard Rock Cafe restaurants there was cool music memorabilia in glass cases all over the place. AND a Starbucks.
I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season at a casino in MS. And it was delicious. This trip was my first experience in a casino which seems crazy since my mom and Thomas are both pretty addicted to them. Either way, I got my first players card and pulled a whole $40 out of the ATM to play with.
Can I just say it hurt a bit to lose that $40…I mean, it was a lot of fun playing penny slots most of the night but when it was gone all I could think of was all the things I could have found at TJMaxx for $40 lol I don’t make a very good gambler. We did spend money on something that I did feel good about though! We got tickets to the Montgomery Gentry concert that was there that night.
So. much. FUN. I saw them in Hawaii when they played a free concert on post but it was on a huge field and we were far away. This room was small and we were much closer. Totes Fun.
Zoomed in dark cell phone pictures look so much better on my small phone screen…
We only stayed the one night. The next morning we got up, had hotel breakfast, and headed out.
We drove home a different way than we came…through Mobile.
And then Pensacola. This way was much prettier.
Except for the love bugs.
And finally back in Sweet Home Alabama. I’ll take this ‘snow’ over Korea snow any day.
The trip was short and sweet and perfect. Now I just need to snap out of vacation mode and get back into real life mode.
Sorry you lost the $40 🙁 But the concert looks like it was fun!
Thanks! It was a blast! I spose the $40 was worth the night of fun.
