A Real Artist.

Layla wants to be an artist when she grows up. And a soccer player…but that’s just when she’s a big kid.

I got her a big easel pad at the Teacher Tools store last week. Her first actual finished picture was a tree with fall colored leaves. She was VERY excited to see it framed. When I told her it was Art she got a little spazzy yelling that she was an artist now 🙂

A Real Artist

She signed her name three different times. None of them Layla. In purple she signed her name “Tub”, in green she was "Dego" (Diego), and in blue shes "Chap Ber" (Champ Bear).

We also have been working on getting her to read. She is really starting to figure out ‘sounding it out’. Its exciting for me to see her learn. I was writing her notes on her easel and she would sound them out with some help then she would write me something.

On a non-Layla note…remember this?

We finally ripped out those 1970s kitchen appliances! The oven was bit of a pain to get out but its out. As well as the cook top and the microwave. We have a brand spanking new still in the box slide in range in the garage that we need to install once we hack at the counter tops to make room for it. I cant wait. Last night we had quesadillas on the griddle. This morning was toaster waffles. Lets see how long I can feed us without actually cooking anything.

Step 2

Yesterday Melissa and I packed up the girls and went to Dothan. She needed steaks and I needed Revo food. We stopped at TJ Maxx after Petsmart and holy great book prices! I got 2 fun cookbooks for like $6. They are good at meeting my $5 rule.

Anyway, on the way home we saw this. I’m sure there’s a good cause behind it but the sign is just kinda weird.

Buy A Burger, Save A Baby

And my poor sweet Layla. She NEVER sleeps in Melissa’s car. There’s movies playing and a friend next to her, why would she? She must have been really tired.

Going…
Three...

Going…
Two...

Gone 🙂
One...OUT.
