A few randoms going on around here. First, I’m back in the gym revisiting the New Rules of Lifting program. I’ll talk more about that later (maybe, haha). But with that being said, I’m back on the clean eating wagon and drinking my protein shakes after workouts. The protein I had bought at the commissary was gross. Not a fan but its what they had. FINALLY I was running low and needed to buy more. I ended up getting some Optimum Nutrition in Chocolate. Yum. At a scoop of that and a scoop of PB2 (powdered peanut butter) and omg. Reeses in a cup.
Anywho, I had heard about the brand About Time and wanted to check them out. When I went to their site I noticed they had a trial pack for $3! I got 2 different flavors. Birthday Cakes and Chocolate Mint. Both sounded amazing.
They also sent me THIS!
I busted into this sucker before I even thought to take a picture of it. There were 2 servings in this little back. I ate it all :/ So yummy!
I might have to order more. As for the protein powder…I made a shake out of the ChocoMint and it was ok. Wasn’t horrible but not the most amazing thing I’ve ever had. And the Birthday Cake I had mixed in with cottage cheese. I usually mix my regular protein powder in with cottage cheese and some stevia and freeze for a bit for dessert. I was really excited to have the birthday cake flavor but it did NOT want to mix in with the cottage cheese. Kinda gross texture…didnt get any better in the freezer….overall not that great. The flavor was good…but not the actual treat itself. Bummer 🙁 If I buy a huge tub of it I want to be able to mix it with EVERYTHING which so far the ON brand has been fantastic.
NEXT – I’ve heard of people blending oatmeal into their shakes for a breakfast replacement. There’s even a recipe in the NROL book that uses oatmeal in a smoothie/shake. So I tried it.
Gross. Maybe I need a fancier blender but I wasn’t a fan of chewing my drink. And then there was the left over didnt make it through the straw bits at the bottom of the cup. For the work that went into measuring/dumping/blending everything….I’d rather just make and eat oatmeal. Maybe this wouldn’t be a bad on the go option. But eh…
A not so clean recipe…or maybe I can say it is since they were home made with no preservatives…home made tortillas. LOTS of white flour.
Nom nom nom.
I rolled them out and cooked them in a cast iron pan. The directions said to spray with Pam but the ones I did turned out kind of gross and oily? No need for Pam.
Moving on….Thursday night at the restaurant on post is Mongolian BBQ night. YUM. We went for the first time in a long time. And of course…kids will be kids… Paper Placemat Origami.
Can’t take them anywhere 😛
Oh! I don’t think I go into a lot of derby details here (not sure why?!) but with so many people moving this summer we had a vote for new team captains. Say hello to the new Kimchicks captain! Woo!
And finally, best for last….
We had a date night! It doesn’t happen often at all. But a friend and I were at AK Plaza (mall/train station) and saw a huge sign for Jurassic Park in 3D! How could I NOT go to that?!
I was so so excited.
“This is us in an elevator without kids!!”
“This is us looking out a window without kids!!”
“This is us eating food the kids wont touch…without kids!!”
“This is the cool light at the place we ate without kids!!”
I think I got a little carried away…excited to be grown ups and kidless. It was fun.
I tried to make this my new header…but it’s too tall and I don’t want to chop any of it off. So here it is. Pyeongtaek.
I love it all!!!! The pictures of you and Thomas are great!! And that last one of your city wow what a view!! <3
