I Left My ‘Cool’ In Hawaii…

Yesterday while the kids were at school Layla and I drove around looking for Walmart. We found it, got the bread we NEEDED then headed toward the bird feeder isle. I got a hummingbird feeder and one packet of the powder mix for their juice. And some bird seed. We get home and are very excited to set it all up. They have a hook right outside their giant kitchen window. PERFECT!

That night when Chae (who came out to Hawaii to spend the summer with us when she was 13. Beaches, tans, HAWAII. She is now about to be 15 living in SoCal.) gets home she sees the bird seed on the counter and asks me why its there. I tell her about our day and how I wanted to get that mean little hummingbird to come to the window. She looked at me like I had 3 heads and said “Why.” I then explained to her that Alabama is NOT Hawaii and we have to find new ways of keeping entertained. I found birds. I’m pretty sure she thinks I’m weird now 😛

Anywho, to add to the excitement of yesterday…we discovered that it is NOT safe to walk on a bumpy rocky driveway AND play a leapster at the same time. Poor thing. Her knee was gushing blood. First let me explain the blood issue. Layla gets hurt a lot. Usually I ask “Is there blood? Nope! You’re good!” and she runs off playing fine. That plan backfired yesterday. I KNOW her knee had to hurt. It looked bad. What she was screaming about though was all of the blood pouring out of it. Oops.

And finally, what is my blog without a bit of random thrown in? This is one of my favorite pictures ever. The backyard has so many pretty flowers and trees and bushes. I couldn’t NOT take a picture or 30.
