Race Day

I finally got the photos from Saturday’s trip to the drag race loaded and ready to post. I was told we were going to the Pike County Dragway…after an hour of driving we turn at this sign…

And it began. T said this one is even more built up than the one they usually go to. :

Thankfully someone with our group had an RV. It came in handy for Layla who is VERY anti loud noises. She spent most of her time in there watching movies and enjoying the air conditioning. I enjoyed seeing how many guys it took to get the awning to open.

We got there a while before anything started.

So Rip’s (the one with the RV) mom got on the 4 wheeler and did some laps around the place

Everyone was waiting for something to happen and the cars to start going…

This car belongs to JJ and Mr Bob

Some other racers…they even raced their cars topless

I THINK this car used to be Rip’s. One of the red cars was. I think.

In the larger version of this you can see the tires are all wrinkly looking. I thought it was neat. Im sure theres some special term for it but I like wrinkly. Or should I say ‘wadded up’ 😉

And he’s off! I hate that the front of the car is cut off but his take off is faster than my picture taking reflexes.

Here’s T catchin a ride back to the RV while I sat comfy in the golf cart 🙂

That’s all I have. Layla and I left early thanks to the dogs needing to be let out and fed. It was all really getting started and the heat was dying down which made me actually want to stay longer. I had fun 🙂
