Lantern Floating on Memorial Day

For the past 3 years I have wanted to go downtown to the lantern floating ceremony on Memorial day. For the past 3 years something else has come up and I have never made it down there. Since we are leaving in a month I was determined to see it. After some CPK at the mall we headed over and pushed our way through about 3million people to get to the water. Holy…moly…I dont like crowds. It wasnt so bad once we found a spot though. And BOY were there some nice cameras/lenses. I snuck pictures of a few I saw. There was a guy with a D3 that walked by. He was little…we could have totally taken him down and grabbed the camera but it would have been too hard to run away through the crowds. Oh well 😛 So I have a ton of pictures. Hang in there.

The Lanters…
When you get a lantern you can write messages, names, whatever you want on it. Some were sweet and some were pretty sad. Im pretty sure by clicking on them you can get to bigger sizes if you cant read them on here.

Talk about sad…is this baby Cyrus? Was that his name? The one thrown from the overpass?

And they’re off! As pretty as it was seeing them all floating out into the ocean I think I liked actually seeing the people with their lanterns and reading the messages more.
