Today was pretty darn perfect. I hit snooze on my alarm and when I woke up I was alone. No kids awake with me during my “me” morning time and I even finished a whole cup of coffee without worrying about anyone else. I think that set the mood for the entire day. When I finished and was heading back to get Layla up for school I heard Timmy moving around so I snagged him before going in to Layla’s room. What I love even more than my morning alone time with coffee is having both the kids in Layla’s room in the morning while she is getting up and getting dressed. Timmy loves it. Layla loves it. I love it. Perfect.
Thomas ‘made’ me run today too. I have gone a WEEK without running and let me tell you that will NEVER happen again. My legs wanted to die. I wanted to die. BUT…because we ran this morning we passed a house with a super awesome old wooden ladder out on the curb right near our house. We ran three 1 mile loops around the neighborhood and finished out the 5K by walking that much further to grab the ladder and bring it to it’s new home. I have big plans for that old weathered wooden ladder. Big plans.
Toss in an awesome grocery shopping trip with lots of sales and coupons and savings to my great morning.
Then Timmy and I waited in rain to get Layla from school. When we got home we busted open the huge tub of chocolate chip cookie dough from our weekend Sam’s Club trip.
Showing how many times she has counted to 60 to countdown the cookie timer.
Timmy couldn’t be bothered with cookie watching and counting. He was too busy messing with Layla’s backpack
For about 10 seconds until he came whining to me trying to climb my leg “mamamammamamamaaaaa!”
That didn’t last long either. There was a crock pot to pull out of the island table thing.
What perfect sit inside and have cookies and milk weather 🙂
They are SO. Good.
And now this is where the randoms come in. When I loaded the few pictures from tonight I realized I had about 40 others still on the camera. So now here’s little “best of” from my random camera pictures.
Timmy trying to play the fishing game with Layla
“NO Timmy don’t touch this one!”
He’ll just take the whole box then
“Ok you can have the green one…”
NEXT:
He loves this piano.
Saturday we went to Sam’s Club but first T put air in my tires since every time we got in it would yell at us about the tire pressure being low.
Waiting.
Layla gave me this leaf when I dropped her off at preschool one morning last fall. It’s been there since then.
Moving on…
Timmy being super still for once.
Now lunging for the camera
And he got the strap
And finally…
“TIMMY! NO.”
Oooo the camera
Here he comes!
This last picture was followed by him checking out the camera for a few seconds before turning around and crawling right back over to the buttons.
He’s rotten. The day ended with Layla soaking in a bubble bath for an hour with her littlest pet shop toys making them ‘walk the runway’ down the side of the tub while Timmy and I sat in her room playing with cars and the blinky eyes on her baby doll. GOOD night 🙂
Wednesday is National Preemie Awareness Day. I joined the Bloggers Unite fight for preemies…so Wednesday I need to make some sort of post about preemies. Maybe revisiting our experiences and retelling our story? I’m not sure. Maybe just a mass 9 month look how far you’ve come post. We’ll see. For right now I have cookies and egg nog calling my name.
I LOVE your blog. This entry was so fun to read and look at. I always love Layla's clothes. Chloe has the same jacket in blue. 🙂 Timmy is sooo stinkin' cute too! He looks super ornery though.
This was a great blog day, I loved it!
