Where has December gone? Better yet, where has 2010 gone?? It’s already Christmas and next I’ll be planning Tub’s first birthday. As much as I don’t like the non talking/walking/sleeping stage and will be happy to wave goodbye to all of it I do get a LITTLE sad at him growing up. Maybe I didn’t enjoy my last bit of baby time as much as I should have. Also the bigger he gets the more trouble he gets into. I don’t know if I’m really ready for him to be a toddler.
Anyway, off of that subject and back to December. We had our 3rd Annual Christmas Light Night with out with our *ex* neighbors. They moved. I was totally heart broken at the time but now I think I see them MORE. Like when Stephanie lived a block away in Hawaii and I saw her every now and then but once she moved 3 miles away we were together ALL. The. Time.
We went to the NOT Christmas City light place. We went last year too and I guess I didn’t blog it because I can’t find anything about it anywhere. But now I’m blogging this year and there are a TON of pictures.
Before lights though we saw Santa at the mall
We got there JUST in time to be in line behind a huge daycare group. Yay!
He was so good waiting in line. No idea what was about to happen.
(ignore the little shoulder pads NOT on his shoulders…)
We got a decent Santa picture thanks to some helpful ‘elves’ waving around a feather duster. He was over it fast though and ready to get off.
All morning Layla was telling us that it wouldn’t be the REAL Santa. Just a guy in a costume that maybe worked for Santa…but not the REAL one.
And then we got there and she saw him and started questioning everything she had said. She must have whispered to me a hundred times if I thought maybe this WAS the real Santa. I think the real beard threw her off. She was expecting the fake ones like in the movies.
Before heading out that night to see the lights we stopped at Winn Dixie for some marshmallows so we didn’t have to buy the little bags of them there.
Light Bokeh HEAVEN!
We stopped to roast our marshmallows first thing when we found a fire pit with open benches.
It was their 26th anniversary <3
Kassie seemed a little concerned about Layla’s fire
Every picture I got of Thomas had the silliest face! This one cracks me up. Awww did your fire burn out? Marshmallow all black? Pouty T.
When we finished stuffing our faces it was time to walk around and see the lights. I remembered these from last year
Gross
‘Catching’ the Auburn ball
Pony Rides
A little shop with a fire out front
I LOVED these plastic white trees
Not sure about the creepy white Santa though
Layla wouldn’t sing with them. She just stood there.
But she did want to ‘lick’ the candy cane
It was so much warmer this year. Last year we were freezing!
Thomas laughed at my blurry tree. I did it on purpose 😛
Then he laughed at all of my on purpose blurriness
And then the next picture…
On the way out Layla hopped on the bull. Actually Thomas set her up there…then pretended that we were leaving her.
Tiny plastic cactus
The End
*Fussy baby needs attention. I’m going to hope all of this is spelled right!
Wow what a cool place to take the kids!! Thanks for the great pictures, it made it feel more like Christmas!!
i like the blurry ones best, personally. 😉
Um, I'm coming to visit next year. That is goregous and the look like they had a GREAT time. And I'm with Layla, thats a darn good Santa. I would question that too.
