(non)Tutorial Tuesday + Giveaway!

Today is my FIRST Tutorial Tuesday! After my last post I browsed through my latest addiction, Tip Junkie, and found a tutorial for some awesome rolled felt flowers. The tutorial is posted at Eighteen25. Another blog that I now LOVE 🙂

And these flowers couldn’t be any easier to make. I’ve made a TON already in all different sizes just by finding different sized circles to trace.

On their blog they used a CD so that’s what I used to start out with.

Next, cut it in a spiral leaving a circle in the middle

Now grab the end of your spiral where you started cutting and tightly roll it. Make sure you keep one side (which will be the bottom) as flat and even as you can. The other side will look more petal-y. Because that’s a word.

When you get to your circle squirt the bottom of the flower with glue

Then squish your circle down to cover the bottom

Now let it dry and repeat x1000 in different colors and sizes. I’m super crazy about these little flowers and am trying to think of anything else to glue them too. I need to get some hair clips and pin backs. LOVE them.

Following the tutorial I cut out some leaves which was the hardest part for me. I couldn’t get them the right size or even enough and it took a lot of mess ups before I was happy. After getting some I liked I cut out 2 ovals to be the back that holds it all together.

I glued the leaves down first to an oval

After gluing the flowers down on the leaves I flipped it over to attach the headband and the 2nd oval.

Once everything is all pressed down flip it over and admire your work! I think it’s the cutest thing ever and might even make one for myself if I didn’t have a freakishly pointy head that wont keep these elastic headbands on.
