Timmy,

My little boy has suddenly started growing up. Ok maybe it’s not so sudden…it’s been happening for the past 19.5 months but still. Lately it seems like he’s just…bigger. I decided I needed to document some of the things he is doing/saying at this point. I have a list of L’s words in her baby book but no dates so I have no idea how old she was when she said any of it.

So, Timmy. At 19 months you have moved out of the crib (but I still wont take it apart) into the twin bed in your room. It started as a playing around saying “night night Timmy!” and turned into you refusing to sleep anywhere else.

You have two glow worms and you sleep with them both. When I lay you in bed I have to turn them both on for you to sleep. Then you end up pressing their buttons over and over after I leave so they stay on.

You climb anything you can get yourself up and onto. You know when it’s wrong and will stand and wait for me to tell you no. Even then you don’t move until I take a step in your direction…that’s when you jump down and run. SO rotten!

You LOVE books but get angry when I try to read/turn pages at my pace. You need to be in control.

You love to clean. Sometimes I think all of your crayon to wall masterpeices are just a way to get me to let you use the magic eraser. You love vacuuming too. I wish your toy vacuum was real.e

You wave and say “Bye bye” in the sweetest little boy voice EVER but only to people you feel are worthy of it. And you will not leave the gym without giving the older guy that runs the place a high five.

You don’t so much vomit any more unless you stuff too much in your mouth. Thank you for stopping that!

Your favorite parts of the day are waking up Layla in the mornings and leaving to get her when school is over. She’s your favorite person ever next to your dad. I’m ok being #3 🙂

You’re a super eater and have mastered the fork. Still working on spoons though. Last night was your first night ditching the high chair tray and eating pulled up to the table with us. You loved it!

You’re only interested in videos and pictures of yourself along with mirrors. You know how awesome you are and arent afraid to flirt with anyone who looks at you to get some attention. And boy do you get it!

You have 13.5 teeth and I think more are coming. You wont stop sucking on your germy little gym playroom hands. Gross.

You say ‘Teeeeeese!’ when I point my phone or camera at you.

You also say (even if I’m the only one that can translate it):

All done (with hands up in the air)
Hi
Boo!
Layla
Sadie
ball (buh)
Juice/drink (doo/dee)
More (muuuuh)
Hello? (hewo? into phone)
nonononono!

You make all of the sounds you need to make to really talk but you just cant put all of them together. You babble and jabber all day.

Today we had a little communication break through. I offered you some gold fish and you shook your head and said “no”. Totally clear and let me know exactly what you meant. I was super excited and let you choose your own snack from the bowl. You chose sticks and cheese. You love to dip things.

You know your eyes, ears, head, nose, teeth, toes, and boogers. You can do the chicken dance and sing along with the radio in the car.

And finally, you have a lovie. Layla was a little younger when she got Rik but I think this might be the age she really latched onto it. Your puppy is a dalmation that she got you for Christmas. All of the sudden you wont let go of it. It’s in your arms when you get out of bed and when you lay down.

There is so much more but I’m stopping here. You’re an awesome little nugget 🙂
