630 – I am wide awake for some strange reason. I give up on trying to sleep and get out of bed. I start my way down the hall with Rik when I hear Layla calling me. At 630am. Ugh. I go in there and fail at talking her into trying to get more sleep. She gets up and comes out with me to the living room.
700 – Layla finds a book that I bought her a couple weeks ago and never actually gave her. She climbs on me and asks me to read it. I tell her as long as I can take a picture when we were done.
800 – Breakfast is ready! More star muffins since we were all up early enough to actually bake something. Layla worked on her Kindergarten work book while she was waiting to eat.
850 – I hop over the baby gate to the other living room to do the Cardio Max. Sadie thought the mat was a good rest stop. She likes seeing how in my way she can get while I’m over there to exercise.
1010 – Layla’s hair is braided and the dogs are taking their turns going out to pee before we leave for ballet.
1100 – Layla and I pick up Lacie from her house so her mom can take brother to the doctor today then we head to ballet class. At the end of the class they get to open up the ‘surprise box’ to see what fun thing they get to play/dance with for the day. Today though they had crayons and ballerina coloring sheets. Layla was in heaven!
1230 – I bring the girls back to our house to have lunch and play until Other Melissa is all finished with doctor appointments and other army related errands. The girls sort of eat some mac and cheese then run off to play princesses in L’s bedroom. While they were all locked away in there I took the time to vacuum the baby Rik’s out of the hallway.
135 – Made the mistake of looking in Layla’s room. Yikes! I hear the clean up song being sung though so there is hope. If they want a princess tea party they need to have a floor to have it on!
245 – The house is cleanish, kids are happy and playing, what do I do? I bust out my library book. I started reading it at ballet this morning. I have it out for about 2 seconds when M calls and tells me she is done and about to head this way.
400 – After visiting with them for a bit and watching Alek get Revo kisses through the kennel door, Melissa and the kids go home.
500 – Layla and I have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner before heading off to tee ball. There were some thunder rumbles while we were eating. I was afraid her LAST game would be canceled.
600 – Layla begins her last game of tee ball. Her team only had 4 people today so we played 3 innings. Still finishing in 45 minutes.
645 – To celebrate the end of Layla’s tee ball season, her first organized sport, we headed over to Dairy Queen. We shared a small Tagalong blizzard. Oh boy how I have been craving one of those since I first saw the commercial. Yum. It’s one of my favorite girl scout cookies!
730 – We get home from the game and DQ. Layla hops in the tub (almost slipping and hurting herself) while I begin to load pictures from the day. Speaking of pictures, the guy that took Layla’s team pictures on Tuesday is way awesome and more on top of it than I am! We got the pictures back today 😀
Ha ha, in the years I have known you I have never seen her name written out like that and it's weird to me for some reason! I know you are Megan Wade and Thomo Wade…but I've never used her last name before…it makes her seem so…big!
