Layla and I had a really good day today. After breakfast/workout/shower we colored a bit then had lunch before heading out to Dothan. Our first stop was Target. I was really wanting to get her the ‘old’ version of Thumbelina. The Don Bluth version…not the new Barbie one. It was SO much better with great songs AND Thumbelina is the same voice as Ariel 😉 Anywho, then to Michaels for new painting paper. From there we headed to Kohls where I picked up a dress I fell in love with online to wear to T’s pre graduation dinner/thing. Finally we ended that shopping center with some Starbucks and books.
We made another stop at Petsmart before heading home. After dinner I dug out the star molded Jello that we stuck in the fridge before leaving the house earlier. I spose I could have used the ‘jiggler’ recipe and they would have come out easier but whateva. It was fun.

After getting all sticky we did the most logical thing next
L got annoyed by the gnats in her ears so she ran to the porch. I started to follow her in but saw this guy and had to take a few pictures.
We finally got inside and L washed the grass/jello mixture off in the tub
When she got out she read me her new Level 1 reader Snow White book. It only took about 5 minutes of kicking and screaming about how she cant read, the words are tricky, she wants me to read, she quits! before she sat up and read it to me. The only issues she had were crazy words like Through. Now she is over the moon happy and proud of her reading and said she will read me a book every day. We’ll see if that lasts.
Now I have the kid in bed on the 4th of July before the sun is fully down and I’m watching The Singing Bee and calming the spazzy dogs.
