What day is it? Thursday?! Friday we kicked off our Spring Break with Layla’s class Easter party and an early release from school. We’ve been going pretty much non stop since then.
Today we are going to the Montgomery zoo. I’m going to try to not get TOO behind so I’m throwin all the older pictures up this morning so I wont feel overwhelmed later 😉
I didn’t get a ton of pictures from the Easter party…and I have no excuse why. I just suck. We started outside and the kids stood in line singing springy songs while we waited for our egg hunting area to open up.
Then they were off! LOTS of eggs. They had to find the ones with their names on them.
I’m glad we were outside first. It was nap time and I took that time to stroll Timmy around until he fell asleep.
After hunting eggs we came back inside where the kids ate their lunch. On party days they have a special lunch of pizza and a veggie tray and there were cupcakes. Of course my freak wanted to pack her lunch. So I made it special…sammich cut into egg shapes, a boiled egg molded into a bunny, grapes, and a big slice of cheddar cheese cut out like a butterfly. And a pudding 😛
After school Melissa and I were talking and somehow she talked me into going to DOTHAN. After 3pm. I don’t leave my house after school. It was crazy. We went to Target and then…Chuck E Cheese 😐
Timmy could not sit still. He was SO into everything there. The kids, the noise, the lights…hard to keep him focused on eating.
Friday night there were some bad storms and we were under a tornado warning. Of course by the time the storms hit it wasn’t too bad here but I was still up for a while during the night to see if I needed to shove the kids in a closet or not. I didn’t. Saturday morning I got up with Timmy and made my coffee and then…the power went out. Not just a flicker but OUT. For the first time in 3 years. For 45 whole minutes. I didn’t know what to do with no tv/wireless internet/lights/AIR/toaster for pop tarts…
At least the sun was up and we could open the windows for some sunlight.
Saturday afternoon we went on post to their Easter/Spring/Kids Festival thing. Egg hunt, petting zoo, jumperoos, funnel cake…all that good stuff.
We started at the animals.
Sweet baby chickies!
Now THESE were the cutest things EVER. Oh my gosh. I could take one home if it wouldn’t grow up.
Seriously.
Baaaaa
Sweet Layla with a handful of weeds trying to get the lil lambs attention
After a quick germex bath it was jumperoo time
They only got to bounce for a couple of minutes before it was time to line up and get ready for the 4-6 age group’s egg hunt.
See how sneaky he is hiding the eggs?
Getting ready…
And GO!
Ignoring all the eggs up front and going straight for the ones in the back
Checking eggs for a “prize” paper to take over to the prize tent for something bigger than candy
We got a lot of free stuff and a lot of candy
On the way home Melissa decided to pull into the WOCS car wash. Of course while we are sitting in line waiting for her turn Timmy pukes in the back seat. Awesome.
We cleaned what we could and when we got home I hosed out the car seat and the boy and we played outside
We ended up going for a walk down to the lake around the corner
The girls founds LOTS of honeysuckle
Iris.
I’ve been in love with it since my 17th birthday when some friends got me a bunch of them 🙂
There’s a short time when the lake it lined with them. Love it
And these flowers were hanging on all of the trees. Not sure if it’s part of the tree or on a vine but I liked them
Finally a nice little shot of perfect. Trash pickin girls having a BLAST on a non working power wheel 4wheeler being pushed by a plastic pipe 🙂
