Alabama Weather In 24 Hours

Yesterday we had some nice thunderstorms. Although we were under a tornado watch nothing scary came of it and we were able to just hang out inside and on the breeze way enjoying the rumbles. I do like thunderstorms. Arizona has some NICE ones…its all the scary stuff that Alabama storms bring with it that I don’t like. Anyway, the sky turned black, there were some booms, then in about 5 minutes the yard was flooded.

And see this big puddle? This is where I planted a ton of flower seeds that were just starting to sprout.

And when the water went away…

Hopefully it does them good.

Yesterday was stormy and warm and nice. Then we wake up this morning to this…

SNOW! Well, flurries anyway…

It took a little convincing to get Layla to go out in it.

And I thought THAT was exciting. Those little flurries didn’t last long but it came back as full blown SNOW! Still nothing really stuck though aside from the edge of the fences where it piled up.

It’s all past us now. Just sort of cloudy and cold. And of course there is a freeze warning so I need to remember to toss a sheet over my poor seeds/sprouts that have been through enough already!

  2. April Elizabeth

I loved the snow myself! So much fun!!! Pres napped the whole time it snowed this afternoon so he missed the big snowflakes.

  3. What’s that you say….snow piled up at the bottom of fences? Did I read that right. ;0)

  4. Cute pics!! And you are right about Alabama weather being CRAZY! I drove through some terrible storms north of Montgomery Friday night then woke up to a snow covered yard in Birmingham this morning. It’s nuts… I heard it’s supposed to be in the 70s again by Wednesday.

  5. Richard said that all the rain you guys got down that way made the roof at the PX collapse at Benning, so it’s totally shut down right now.

God, I wish there was a way I could get there, I’m miserable right now 🙁

lucky you! we’re too far south to catch all the snowy goodness 🙂
