Christmas Sweets

My dad always makes really yummy fudge. For a long time he would mix the different flavored chips together and just have one flavor of butterscotch/chocolate fudge. He has been getting fancy lately by layering the 2 flavors. This year I called him up to have him teach my how to do it. Everything went good with layer 1…after messing up the chocolate and having to add stuff to make it work I poured it in. Not so spreadable. It just kinda fell in the middle of the first layer. I’m a ruiner! So I took a tooth pick and “marbleized it”….It still tastes super yummy!

Not so layered…

Melissa..I used your dish thinking we would bring it over all pretty today but we totally ate some of it last night. Sorry.

Now on to the cookies! First off I want to thank April. She put the idea in my head to buy the premade cookie dough, squish it all together, then roll and cut it myself. WOW! I never ever would have thought about that. It seems simple enough but if you know me you know that I just can NOT make a sugar cookie to save me life. ESPECIALLY not any that need to be rolled and cut. I felt all Martha Stewarty when I was cutting out the cookies to bake for Christmas 🙂

We made lots. Half got packed up for the neighbors, one of each shape was saved for Santa, and the rest are for us 🙂

Santa’s got covered in purple plastic wrap to keep them fresh for him 🙂
Santa's Cookies
I love my purple plastic wrap.

These are the ones we sent across the street. I frosted them and Layla decorated 🙂

  1. LOL on the premade dough! Thank heaven for Tollhouse to make it seem to my hubby as if I really am a domestic goddess! The cookies look great and I am drooling over the fudge. I love it but won’t even attempt to make it myself…poor Pete has to make do with the few pieces his mom sent us in our Christmas cookie box.
