What was I thinking? Legos.

Layla has really been into Legos lately. She’s pretty good at keeping them all together and back in their baggy when she is done. Timmy has those giant Mega Blocks. He wanted Legos like his Nenna has.

So I bought some. The box says ages 4+

We had them open for approximately 5 minutes before I stepped on a stray piece and rethought the whole Lego buying decision.

But I spose it’s better than Playdough which I just caved and let the kids play with. And which is also mushed into every inch of our (thankfully free) area rug.

You know what though? He’s totally excited and loving them. And I guess that’s what counts. As long as I can train him to pick them up and put them away when he’s done.

He’s such a big boy. Speaking of…I am taking him to an Open House at a new preschool this morning. It’s off post but English.

I’m excited for him to learn some skillz.

You know who else is big? This one. When did that happen? All arms and legs and attitude.

And Layla’s pretty big too 😉

Haha, kidding. But the cat is big. Fat. I’ve decided that over feeding is better than being attacked every time I go into the kitchen.

He also likes to lay in the middle of the Lego pile and wag his tail like an angry cat so they fly off the table in every direction.

Bad kitty.

So, fellow Lego moms. How do YOU store your kids Legos? I know one of the organizing blogs I follow just had a post about this that I never actually read through. Maybe I should go back and find it.  I can’t decide what method will work for us because I know we’ll be getting a lot more. I guess it all depends on what we buy.  So, are you a throw it all in one tub and they can fend for themselves house? Or do you sort/store by color and type? Or separate by sets? Right now we’ve only bought sets. Just a few smaller ones, nothing fancy (except a giant Lego helicopter that T wont let anyone play with now that it’s built), so we just keep each set and their instructions in separate ziploc bags to keep them together. Works for now. Do they still sell the giant buckets of random misc pieces? And why are Legos sooo expensive! Goodness. I need to get out of Korea…or onto Ebay.
